What I’ve Been Working On

IMG_3982IMG_3980IMG_3979IMG_3975
The above pieces were my contribution for a craft fair that a fellow jewelry maker will have a table at. This brings me just that much closer to having my own table at a craft fair!

What I’ve Been Working On

IMG_2765
I realized I haven’t really shared any of the fresh jewelry that I've made, for a few months now. I used to do a bunch of creating all at once, and get everything photographed and listed on etsy within the week. It’s a bit harder to do that these days, what with more hours at work and all the fun things I've been up to this summer. Lately, I tend to make little things here and there, and put them on etsy at an errrrm, leisurely pace. So, here’s some of the goodies I've created lately.

Lots of owl goodies, some of which are for a giveaway over at The Nearsighted Owl! It will be my first giveaway, so I’m pretty excited.

More galaxy pendants! I can’t stop making these. A couple of these were done by miss Stacey. We sat down and made some together while my hair was being bleached in preparation for fresh new bright colors! We actually just put in purple, blue, and pink and I’m currently sitting here waiting to wash it out. The top of my head looks like a easter egg!

This last one is a Rainbow Dash cameo for a friend who loves My Little Pony!

Outfit: Fur and Dots

IMG_3325IMG_3309IMG_3289IMG_3279IMG_3338e
cardigan: Forever 21, thrifted
dress: thrifted
shoes: Report, Plato’s Closet
cameo: Pinky Noodles on etsy

This is my favorite little black dress ever. I use it a lot for layering cardigans or sheer dresses over. I love the way it fits, and the fact that I got it for $5 at Goodwill! As you can see, my favorite hair style lately is just piling all my hair on top of my head with a just a jaw clip. It’s definitely time to redye it, so I’m doing exactly that sometime in the next few days. I’m excited for more vibrant purple all over. I’ve actually gone so long without redying that my bangs are completely my natural hair color. I haven’t had that much of my natural color since freshman year of high school!

Also. I must give credit to my boyfriend, Andrew for helping me pick out an outfit today. It was one of those times where everything I put on seemed to clash or look silly, so he made some suggestions. He actually pretty much put together this whole outfit!

How awesome is my cameo today?! It’s one I purchased from Pinky Noodles on etsy. She has some really amazing cameos, settings, and supplies. She designs most of the cameos herself, which is amazing to me. Check out some of the others I purchased from her:

I love all of these. They’re really well made, and so detailed. The cameo with the hands says “Je ne regrette rien” on the banner. It means “ I regret nothing” in french. It’s actually been one of my favorite quotes for awhile, after reading about the song “Non, je ne regrette rien” by Edith Piaf in the book ‘Jailbird’ by Kurt Vonnegut. I’m really excited to make some lovely brooches/pendants out of these gorgeous cameos!

Thrifting Day!

A week or so ago, me and miss Stacey had another one of our amazing Portland thrift store adventures. Here’s some of the sights we saw:

The above pictures are from an amazing shop called Magpie. They always have amazing window displays, not to mention the best selection of jewelry. Do you see all those cameos?! I wish I could give them all a home. Sigh.

These are from Vintage Pink. I was so in love with all three of these items, but they were a bit spendy for me.
And here’s some lovely street art for ya:

And last, but not least: Here’s some of the great things that I ended up bringing home:

Isn’t that owl adorable?! I freaked out a bit when I saw it, mostly because my mom used to have the same exact one. It was always sitting on her trinket shelf while I was growing up. I also couldn’t pass up that creepy mannequin head for $5! I plan on dying her hair purple and giving her some better bangs. That red/white stripey fabric in the background is an awesome apron. I’ve been wanting a cute apron for awhile. I might dress this one up with some ruffles, and add some fun pockets!
