So this is the latest vest I've modified. It's food-themed, but most importantly focuses on PIZZA! It came with the studs, but I added everything else. How amazing is that patch on the back?! The taco and pizza buttons on the collar were given to me by my mum, and the sweet Sailor Moon patch is from my friend Steph. I thought it especially appropriate since Sailor Moon loves junk food and eating all the time. I really like making cute vests with themes. They're fun to plan and put together, and they're comfortable to just throw over whatever outfit I'm wearing!

Alaska

Honestly, there's only a couple things I miss about Alaska besides my friends and family. One of these things is the absolutely gorgeous sunsets.

Alaska!

So, last week, I took a little trip home to Alaska for my friend, Todd’s, wedding. It was a cold, quick, and fun visit!

These are some of my favorite people in the universe!

It was so great to see their beautiful faces on their wedding day! Their wedding colors were purple and green, and all the boys wore Converse.

Ridiculously tasty. My mom also made cake batter bark and cake batter puppy chow (chex tossed with melted white chocolate, cake mix, and sprinkles).  Nom Nom!

We painted tons of these things with glitter and nail polish, just like the pendants I made. My mom used wire to attach some to candleholders, which looked amazing!

I adore my lovely family and awesome friends. It’s a shame they’re so far away in the great tundra! I’m really glad I got to see them, if only for a couple days.

January in Pictures

Here in Northern Oregon, we got our annual two days of light snow.

Found a detachable Peter Pan collar on Ebay, paired it with one of my brooches. I felt a bit like Wednesday Adams all day, which is never a bad thing!

My new favorite snack: homemade caramel and granny smith apples!

Found this awesome flannel shirt at Goodwill. I actually didn’t realize it had text on the back until I was checking out, but it just made the shirt more awesome.

Went to dinner at Interurban, where the menus come in old-school file folders, LCD Soundsystem flows from the turntable, and the food and drinks are crazy/delicious. I had some delicious polenta croquettes and fried pizza, with some yummy whiskey cocktails. A bit on the expensive side for me, but it was a neat experience. 

Found a stripey long-sleeved dress on ebay with black buttons and a Peter Pan collar! Wore it with a black heart cameo.

And I made some lavender homemade icing (this picture doesn’t do the color justice) and made a mini cake with sprinkles. The icing was a bit liquidy, so I’ll have to adjust the recipe a bit next time. Still delicious!

Happy Thanksgiving!

I started the holiday off with some muddy flag football with my awesome coworkers early this morning (yes, 10 am is early for me). It was my first time playing flag football, and it was actually lots of fun. Andrew and I just got done having a crazy-delicious dinner at his mum's house, so now we're totally stuffed and relaxing at home. My favorite person ever, Stacey Sawyer, is coming over tonight so we can get some black friday shopping done tomorrow. It's been a lovely day so far. I'm going to go feed my little rats some green peas and crackers, nom nom! Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!
