Outfit: birthday day

dress: Forever 21  tights: Urban Outfitters  bow & belt:  Forever 21  shoes: Dockers

Yesterday was my 25th birthday, so of course I'm wearing a big giant bow and lots of glitter. I hope I never get to whatever age it is where people go "I think I'm too old to be putting glitter on my face."
  GLITTER TIL I DIE

I started off my birthday by studying for my business finance midterm for about one millions hours, which I recommend to no one ever. Something inside of me died. But then I went out with some of my loveliest friends and ate nachos & macaroni and cheese & chocolate cake shots & whiskey & ice cream, and then everything was perfect once again.

Since this week is a bit too busy to even think about having a real birthday party, I'm having one next week. It's called "Blanket Fort Pizza Party" and it's going to be amazing. Here's to growing old, but never growing up.

Outfit: hearts on hearts

sweater: Target  pants: Forever 21  shoes: Jellypop

I'm a sucker for black clothing with hearts on it, which is one of the reasons this is probably my favorite sweater of all time. It was light enough that I wore it a lot during last summer, and it's warm enough to layer during winter. The pants I'm wearing have fuzzy black velvet hearts and were only $8, so that's pretty magical.

I'm off to do some homework for my Business Finance class, which is exactly as exciting as you would imagine.

Outfit: Pizza Vest

shirt: nollie vest: dolled up pizza patch: fennec design co.  pants: forever 21  shoes: rock & candy

So this is the latest vest I've modified. It's food-themed, but most importantly focuses on PIZZA! It came with the studs, but I added everything else. How amazing is that patch on the back?! The taco and pizza buttons on the collar were given to me by my mum, and the sweet Sailor Moon patch is from my friend Steph. I thought it especially appropriate since Sailor Moon loves junk food and eating all the time. I really like making cute vests with themes. They're fun to plan and put together, and they're comfortable to just throw over whatever outfit I'm wearing!

Outfit: black velvet

dress: Forever 21  shirt: Forever 21  shoes: Unionbay  necklace: Michael's bracelet: made by my mom

I don't take outfit pictures as much lately. Lately, I just like wearing lots of black, with black/white stripes or polka dots. I throw on comfy, cozy clothes. So my outfits probably aren't quite as interesting or worthy of pictures, but I still feel cute!

Outfit: new hairs

shirt: ransom  skirt: buffalo  shoes: unionbay

So... I dyed my hair. I was getting really tired of everything in my life being dyed purple: my skin, my clothes, my keyboard,  even my car steering wheel. My hair was also getting pretty damaged from all the bleach and the infrequent washing to try to keep the color from fading. I wanted to dye it a bright red, but it ended up a bit darker and more brown than I wanted. I'm getting used to it now, and it's definitely nice to be able to wash my hair everyday and not worry about getting purple all over the place.

Outfit: stripes and velvet

crop top: Decree  velvet skirt: Romwe  shoes: Rock and Candy

Lately I just want to wear black/white-striped pieces of clothing paired with all black. I think I have at least one of every type of article of clothing with horizontal black/white stripes. It's just a classic and comfortable combination to me! And this plush velvet skirt fits in with my love of all things soft and fuzzy, like the carpet I'm standing on, and the blankets and pillows behind me!

Outfit: summer stripes

dress: Target  vest: diy  shoes: Nordstrom Rack

Guysssss, this vest is my new favorite piece of clothing. It's so easy to just throw on over any outfit, and perfect for summer fun times. The vest was originally pastel pink when I bought it. I dyed it with purple Rit, added some pastel pink studs, and attached some cute patches to it, and now I'm absolutely in love with it.

Outfit: Tiki Party in Space

dress: thrifted Forever 21  belt: Forever 21  tights: ebay  shoes: Miss Bisou

Yesterday I dressed up for an impromptu "tiki party in space", complete with pulled pork burritos, rum and juice, and a hilarious game of Cards Against Humanity. It's been really nice not having to worry about homework, twenty-page research papers, and four hour long classes; just relaxing and hanging out with friends. I plan on enjoying this summer break as much as humanly possible!

mint & pink lace

dress: Lovely Day  cardigan: Forever 21  tights: Target  shoes: Not Rated  brooch: zombot shop

It's finally getting nice and sunny here in Portland. We've been having glorious, beautiful, warm sunshiney days, which makes me oh-so-happy. I could be having the worst day ever, but if it's sunny and bright outside, it's an instant mood-improver.

Outfit: symmetry

shirt: Arizona   jeans: Target

Well, I definitely couldn't resist buying this symmetrical shirt. I only wish the orange side was blue, then it would be absolutely perfect! You can tell from this outfit that I desperately needed to do laundry because I'm wearing blue jeans. Anytime I wear pants, I feel uncomfortable and restricted. SKIRTS AND DRESSES FOREVERRRRR. They just feel so much comfier to me.

Apologies if I haven't been posting as much here in recent times. This is my first term in the School of Business at PSU, and the amount of homework is absolutely ridiculous. I'm only taking two classes currently,  but the work load is pretty intense. Balancing that out with work and hanging out with my amazing friends leaves a little bit less time for blogging and etsy. It's okay though, I'm happy being a busy person! I'll take busy over bored any day of the week.

Treat Yo Self

dress: Target  cardigan: Frenchi  tights: Target  shoes: Anarchic

I bought this dress last week on a "Treat Yo Self" day. If you watch the show Parks and Recreation, you probably know what I'm talking about. If you don't watch the show Parks and Recreation, you're missing out and you should probably go watch it right now. Basically, there's an episode where Tom and Donna have an annual "Treat Yo Self" day, where you indulge and pamper yourself and do whatever makes you happy, whether that means new clothes, massages, mimosas, or a Batman costume.
Between finals, a two-week long cold, followed by a week of migraines, followed by an allergic reaction to new antibiotics (wheee!), it's been a rough month for me. It was really therapeutic to treat my self, and do what made me happy for a day. I really believe in self-care and paying attention to the little things that make you happy.

Little things about this outfit that make me happy: comfy new lace dress, glittery eyeshadow, wearing multiple shades of my favorite color, and my messy colorful hair.

sweater: Forever 21  skirt: White House Black Market   socks: Target   shoes: Anarchic

I'm finally coming out of my icky sickness haze. It has been nice to stay home and get some stuff done, I've been adding some new brooches to the etsy shop, and there's lots more to be listed still!
