Outfit-galaxygirl

IMG_1490
Today I’m doing some cleaning/organizing around the apartment and trying to de-stress after a loooong weekend of work.  Even if I’m barely leaving the house today, it makes me feel better to put on a cute outfit and some makeup, and feel awesome. I definitely dress for myself, not others.  IMG_1513 legcombo
I’m completely in love with these leggings. They’re comfy, fun, and a beautiful combination of all my favorite colors. IMG_1533
I picked up this super-glittery cuff at a neat little shop I visited during our coast trip. It was called “Antique Virgin (Serious Whimsy)”. So obviously I couldn't leave town without checking that out.  IMG_1526IMG_1496

Hanging out with Tesla and Volta
We found out recently Tesla has cancer :( She won’t be around much longer, but we’re making sure she’s a happy rat while we still have her. IMG_1305

Outfit- all lace everything

IMG_1434
One of my favorite things to wear is layers upon layers of lace, especially when they're all black. I feel comfy, girly, and badass all at the same time. IMG_1463
I painted my nails for the first time in a long time! I had a get-together with some friends the other night where we gave ourselves pedicures and manicures. It was really relaxing and fun! I forgot how much I missed having pretty nails and toenails. Plus, it keeps me from biting them (my fingernails, not my toenails). IMG_1450IMG_1440

purple hairs!

IMG_1388
On Friday, I finally dyed my hair purple! Most of it turned out a bit darker than I wanted, but it’ll fade over time. I used mostly Special Effects “Pimpin’ Purple” mixed with “Joyride”, and some leftover blue dye from last time. I like mixing colors like that, so I get different shades and highlights.IMG_1403IMG_1422

Outfit- blondie

IMG_1290
So in preparation for dying all of my hairs purple this weekend, I bleached my hair. Hard. I think it’s the first time in memory that I’ve ever bleached all of it at once. There was a  two days in between the bleaching and coloring, so I got to try out being a blonde for a bit.IMG_1298
I don’t think I would ever dye my hair blonde and leave it that way, but it was fun for a day or two.IMG_1264IMG_1292

Outfit- cheetahsaurus

IMG_1155 When I first saw this shirt, I actually it had dinosaurs all over it. I only realized that the creatures were actually cheetahs later on. Still love this shirt and how thin/soft/comfy it is. Perfect for summer! IMG_1141IMG_1149IMG_1147
I love mood rings. This is one of the prettier ones I own, it has wings going down the sides.

Telephone Purse

IMG_1164 So I finally found one of those wonderful phone purses that I was obsessing over in a past ‘lovely things’ post. I found it on ebay for $45, which is honestly the most I’ve ever spent on a purse. Unfortunately, it had gold details. I can’t stand wearing gold. It may be my least favorite color of all time. So! I fixed it with some white paint!  IMG_5540IMG_1170IMG_1168 I love that there’s an actual telephone cord going from the phone to the purse. The plastic phone even unbuttons off the purse so you can be silly and talk on it if you want. There’s no doubt in my mind that at some point in the future I will have a fake conversation on a plastic phone connected to my purse. Maybe even more than once.  IMG_1180

Outfit- Bowtied

IMG_0852
My mister Andrew tends to wear suspenders a lot, and bowties on occasion. I love the way they look, and like to think that I can pull them off too. I purchased both these suspenders and the bowtie on ebay supah cheap. (I even got the same bowtie in lime green!) The suspenders are purple and glittery, which is so right up my alley.
IMG_0835IMG_0845
Sometime I really like the combination of green and purple, even though they don’t match well. And if green leopard print is tacky, then guess who’s tacky and doesn’t care? This girl.

A trip to the beach

IMG_0681
Last week, Andrew and I took a much-needed trip to the beach. We drove three hours south to Beachside Recreation Site, a small campground outside of Yachats, Oregon. I had packed for the trip expecting cold weather and rain, but upon arrival was pleasantly surprised by sunshine, blue skies, and somewhat warm temperatures!

I love seeing forts and wood structures on the beach! I'll have to try to make one someday.
IMG_0744IMG_0737
I got to play around with my new camera lots on this trip. For example, in the shot above, we could see a teeny tiny black line on the horizon. When I zoomed in with my 140x digital zoom, we found out it was a boat! My camera pretty much doubles as binoculars.
IMG_0734IMG_0724IMG_0671IMG_0612IMG_0590IMG_0584IMG_0645
I was really impressed by the campground itself. There was hardly anyone at all tent-camping, as most of the people were in RVs. Our campsite was just a tiny walk to the beach, and the bathrooms. The campground has some really nice yurts, but you have to rent them a month or two in advance. I plan on doing so sometime this summer! At night, we had the obligatory hot dogs and s'mores over the fire, and walked around looking at the absolutely beautiful night sky. The next day, we headed into Yachats, a cute little coastal town, for some yummy lunch. We ended up at The Drift Inn, a really quirky restaurant decorated with mermaids, local art, and crazy umbrellas hanging from the ceiling.

I ordered a super-delicious crab and avocado pizza, with a marionberry daiquiri. So good!combofoodAfterwards, we walked around a bit and checked out some of the little shops and thrift stores. I found these really adorable knit mushrooms outside a store! combomushroom
It was a really nice trip altogether, and I'm already jonesing to go camping again soon.
